DIY HACKABLE SPEAKER

WHAT'S IT?

Audx is an hackable speaker.

Audx comes as an all-inclusive do-it-yourself kit allowing users to build their speaker and create their own music visualiser whilst learning about coding.

HARDWARE

HARDWARE

Circuit board of Audx is based on ATmega328P.

Audx accommodates a 2.5W class D amplifier to drive the speaker, an LED driver to control the LED matrix, a microphone with automatic gain control and a voltage regulator to supply 5V.

While listening to your favourite music, you can explore the working principles of a speaker and learn about which components it is made of.

During the assembly of Audx, you will practice your basic soldering skills and discover fundamental concepts of electronics and audio systems. Assembly guide and video tutorials we prepare are aimed at new beginners, and will take you through every step of the building process in detail.

SOFTWARE

SOFTWARE

Audx is an Arduino-based project.

It accommodates a microphone module with an 8 by 8 LED matrix that can be programmed as you wish. You can create your own custom music visualiser or dynamic animations which move according to the music you are playing.

Simply connect Audx to any Arduino board you have, and program it through Arduino IDE. Educational guides on our website will help you creating your own animations.

Connect Audx to your phone or any other music player with an auxiliary cable to enjoy your music. Alternatively, if you want to go wireless, simply connect any Bluetooth receiver to Audx and you are ready to go.

Powered by 3 x AAA size batteries, you can take Audx pretty much everywhere you would like, listen to the music and share your own music visualiser with friends!
